Saturday Centus - 09/25/10 If Only He Knew Then What He Knows Now

It's time again to join the fun with Jenny Matlock and Saturday Centus.

The rules for the writing prompt: Use the prompt exactly as shown. Use no more than 100 words to create your story (not including the prompt).  Keep your language clean, there are kids in the house.

The prompt appears below, in bold.

Let Them Eat...Pie?

He never dreamed when he blew out the candles on his cake that this birthday celebration would result in a ride in an ambulance and cost thousands of dollars in medical bills.

His girlfriend, Patty Crocker, spent hours making dinner for the whole family. She baked her sister Betty's Hummingbird cake recipe (he told her once how much he loved pineapple), and all of her Wilton class skills to decorate the cake to perfection.

The family really liked Patty; he did, too.

If only he had known that he had developed a deathly allergy to nuts.

Two bites of that delicious cake and his throat began to close...
