Book Blurb Friday - 04/29/11

Once again, Lisa from Writing in the Buff, has provided us with our book cover inspiration. Now all I have to do is craft a believable book blurb that goes along with the picture.

Shades of Disaster

Merry Holliday thought she’d snagged the perfect summer job. Hired as a cabana girl at the posh La Playa de Las Locas resort, Merry figured she’d work on her tan and flirt with the young men who rented cabanas from her.

Everything changes when Ray Bann’s lifeless body lay in Cabana #3. Suddenly, Merry is involved in a murder investigation, and is frightened that she’ll never be able to clear her name.

Merry decides to put her university criminology classes to practical use and begins her own investigation. She uncovers many secrets about the resort’s guests AND its owner, Foster Grant – secrets worth killing for.

Can Merry convince Detective Sandy Beech to listen to what she’s found out? Will the clues they find be enough to keep Merry from going to prison?

“Enjoy Shades of Disaster like a Long Island Iced Tea – and wonder where the time went!” – Harvey Wallbanger

  9. June, your names are the best, lol! This would be a fun book to read, laying by the pool, with a cabana boy bringing fresh mai-tai's.

  11. I went to high school with a Sandy Beach! So funny! and of course, Foster Grant is the perfect resort manager; especially if one of the high profile guests turns out to be Raquel Welch!!

  14. What's in a name? In this case, lots of laughs. I enjoyed the blurb so much that I read it aloud to my daughter. Cleverly done.
