Poem: Half Past Five

Cotton batting clouds drift across the sky
Time closer to dusk than to dinner
Kids play their last game of tag in the waning light
Homework, bath, bed await
Evening news and sitcoms
Reality shows depicting carefully scripted realities
Soon, kitchen cleaned, dishwasher hum
Stretch and yawn, time for bed
Clock ticking to herald our survival of another day
No mistakes tomorrow

  1. You summed up your evening in words beautifully strung together. I love this!

  2. I think you've been watching me at night. This sounds like a perfect description of my life.

Thanks for stopping by. I love your comments...I get all warm inside just reading them!
