I'm Just Like Poor Old Michael Finnegan - With My Chin Hairs, I Begin Again

I don't know how or where to start. Maybe a reintroduction is in order.

Hi, I'm Kim. Here's where you pretend to see me waving from the driveway.

I've been gone so long. I've missed reading your posts, and feel like I've lost my way. I hope you'll welcome me back with a seat at the kitchen table and a cup of tea, and that you don't feel like you have to clean up the house first before I visit.

You know, like true friends. I've missed our little chats. I crave the connection I get from "my people" (how The Mister refers to my writer friends).

I'm going to attempt to begin again.

Hope you'll be here to comment and cheer me on as I try to find my writing mojo.

Life's been busy and frustrating and wonderful and awful (and sometimes all of these, in quick succession).

I hope I can resurrect my cockeyed optimism and start blogging again, telling my truths with humor and a bit of insight, lightly seasoned with snark.

Or maybe I'll just make up shit...you never know with me.

This post ain't much, but it's a beginning...

  1. Kim--First of all, Verna and I spoke of you on Saturday. (She was so compelling I bought a book of hers. She's a hoot! Thanks for bringing her to the book signing; otherwise, I wouldn't have met her.) She said she wished we could have done the interview on Saturday, and then she would have invited you. THAT would have made the day even better. She also spoke of what a great friend you are...

Secondly, I like the funny truth and the made-up shit, so either or both would be great. So welcome back. We all have seasons and phases and "life" that happens.

Third, I will be posting about Verna on Thursday. She was charming and inspiring and so sharp.

Thanks for coming back. I missed you. Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back. (Imagine my voice as pleasant as John Sebastian's, who sang the theme song to the "Welcome Back, Kotter" show...)

  2. Kim, please come back. You are missed.

  3. Yes, you are missed. I don't make it on a regular basis and sometimes I'm reading several past posts at a time when I finally get around to reading all the blogs, and I don't always comment, but you are funny and insightful. Keep on writing.

Thanks for stopping by. I love your comments...I get all warm inside just reading them!
